Since 2004, Dataline has been working with many of its industry partners to enable optimal automation through JDF/JMF integrations within prepress workflows for conventional, digital and large format machines and finishing systems. Dataline is an active member of CIP4, which oversees JDF alignment. At CIP4 meetings, we are often one of the few MIS developers present. The JDF/JMF module of MultiPress provides you with a whole range of efficiencies and time gains. With full automation new orders or tasks are immediately sent to the connected systems and automatically processed there, which significantly reduces the downtime of your machines and systems. Importantly, duplicate data entry is a thing of the past. Using MultiPress eliminates the need for employees to transfer information manually and reduces the risk of errors.

• Prepress workflow integration: order information is automatically administered and translated into the correct format ready for production. JDF / JMF, for example, ensure that the correct imposition data is sent to the plate making department. As soon as the plates are ready for use, the system automatically feeds the information back.
• Press/print workflow integration: makes it possible to send order data directly to the right press or production printer. All data on substrates, print run and for example, ink usage, is known immediately, thus reducing set-up and production times. Production data for each order is fed back immediately, so that planning and post-calculation departments always have accurate information.
• Afterpress workflow integration: order information from both prepress and print is available to operators in the finishing department. JDF-connected finishing equipment can therefore be used extremely efficiently. In addition, information returned from production for example can help with forwarding planning and also post-calculation of a quick and accurate invoice.
• Fully-fledged JDF management system: MultiPress organises the entire JDF workflow and, among other things, generates machine-specific JDF commands based on other connected JDF devices. The great flexibility of the MultiPress JDF engine also makes it easy to apply manufacturer-specific JDF extensions.
