Drukkerij De Press
Printing business De Press engages in both offset and digital printing. We decided to concentrate on offset and further develop towards a complete range of finishing techniques, a full post-press service and an in-house postal delivery system. We also engage in digital large format printing. Furthermore, we publish four titles: Close magazine Limburg en de Kempen, Het Boerenbelang, Het Nieuwsblad van Geel and a weekly newspaper for Tessenderlo and Geel.
Previous way of working
We used to work with pen and paper, like everyone else. After this period of manual input, we switched to the new age of Veda, a sophisticated calculator. As it had few development possibilities, we switched from Veda to MultiPress.
MultiPress evolves with us
The company is now hard to imagine without MultiPress. Automation is not only essential on press level, it should also be implemented on an administrative level. MultiPress is perfect for this. The programme does not stand still, it constantly evolves with us. Each question receives an answer. It is always possible to adapt something or to add another tool. MultiPress keeps up with the times, and this is very important for us.
Automatic emails
We think that an automated email system brings a wealth of added value to the customer. After approval, the customer can perfectly check the status of the order. Whether it is in pre-press, in the printing or finishing stage or whether it is ready for dispatch, the customer automatically receives an email for every action carried out within these 4 large steps.
Growing with MultiPress
We should improve our time registration, because to measure is to know. As for pre-press, I also strongly believe in workflow automation. How do we see imposition and how can MultiPress bring an added value? Or, can MultiPress offer a solution to automate the process? Automatic check of PDF files, sorting, digital printing, these are all subjects that interest me. That is why I want to know how we can further grow in this area.
Vision for the future
The evolution within De Press is very clear. I am working hard on its development. We have made several acquisitions in the graphic world. Although it concerns smaller companies, we have a clear vision for the future. We are evolving towards a digital global world, and this is also true for the printing business. We cannot escape this trend. Discussions on the topic are well advanced. I think we should work towards this as a company. This is also the case for my colleagues: they take on other opportunities within their company. I think the focus in the graphic future will not only be on print, digital, PCs or laptops. It will become something global.
