Mediacenter Rotterdam automates workflow with MultiPress

Mediacenter from Rotterdam is an all-round print business. Communication specialists who offer the whole range of services and products for their customers: creative communication, commercial and promotional printing, sign & large format, media solutions ... in other words, a 360° provider that has evolved with today's market and customers. Wouter de Jong, Business Development Manager, agrees: "The print industry is constantly changing and we have to keep reinventing ourselves." And that's working, by using the ERP/MIS MultiPress!

Automate wherever possible

The printing industry doesn't stop evolving and Wouter de Jong, Business Development Manager at Mediacenter Rotterdam, realises this too. "We have to keep reinventing ourselves. We sold the big printing presses and started investing in inkjet. And so we are in a continuous state of change as we look at the needs of the market."

To stay one step ahead of the competition, automation is necessary. Wouter de Jong: "We want as much of an automated workflow as possible here in our company. So our slogan is: automate wherever possible. So with the arrival of MultiPress, we have ensured that we can put orders directly into the queue on the machines. That has a big advantage: there're no more people in between, the control is automatic. We appreciate the power of MultiPress to automate production processes."

The power of MultiPress

The module that particularly convinced them was the Calculation Wizard. Wouter confirms: "Together with Dataline, we looked at how to get the best modules, which modules fit our organisation best? That's why we chose the Calculation Wizard. That makes it very quick to make a calculation which requires less real calculation-technical knowledge."

But modules for workflow optimisation were also very useful. Wouter adds: "Check & Repair and Imposition help us to get the order into production very quickly and correctly with the right technical specifications. We also have many customers who work with order portals. The flow from the brand portal via MultiPress to the printer is now completely automated and we have therefore managed to achieve a huge efficiency gain."

New service: Warehouse

Mediacenter Rotterdam also added a new service to their offering: Warehouse. Wouter explains: "When we talk about nice integrations, there is the Warehouse. We have quite a complex warehouse that we wanted to access within MultiPress. And we made sure, with our own team both our IT team and our warehouse team, that we were able to integrate MultiPress into the equipment the team uses in the warehouse. In that way they can actually walk through the warehouse wirelessly, but they are directly connected to MultiPress. That cuts another link and prevents another delay or potential hiccups."

MultiPress remains indispensable

MultiPress will also remain an indispensable tool for Mediacenter in the future. "If we talk about the future and the future of Mediacenter, in which we are in a continuous state of change because we are constantly looking at "what does the market demand?", I think we will continue to need Dataline and MultiPress frequently. They help build the ERP system that suits us. And I do believe that we will continue to challenge each other in the future."
